The royal jelly proteins isolated from Manuka honey are not the same as the proteins isolated from the hive queen cells. 

The proteins from Manuka honey are different because they are modified by the chemistry of the Manuka honey. MGO modification leads to the formation of phenolic-MGO-protein adducts.
